Coffee on the front porch

It doesn’t always have to be black and white, although I like the contrast and simplicity in it. With this digital illustration, I wanted to try something different and explore analogous and monochromatic schemes with natural colors and organic textures.

This piece is a melting pot of very different influences and personal experiences. It was inspired by cold and crisp mornings, a good cup of coffee, the desire to find peace and tranquillity, traditional Mexican craftsmanship, folk music and Icelandic and Irish landscapes.

The process

My moodboard and first sketch. These still include a tree I later decided to leave out to keep it simple and focus only on the subject, the chair and the overal mood.
